_
St. Catherine's has an active Christian Education program, and we hope you will be challenged to participate in exploring your faith with us.

Church School
All children are welcome to our Church School, which meets in Greig Hall at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays. Classes are offered for children from pre-school to grade seven, following the "Seasons of the Spirit" curriculum. Children are an important part of the Church NOW, and not the Church of the future, and are always welcome at any parish service.

See Children's and Youth Programs for further details.

Bible Study

"The place God is calling you to be is where your deep gladness and world's hunger meet"
Frederick Buechner

We are currently working on "A Study Process for Community Exploration of Faith and Ministry" and are just beginning Step 4 of 8 - "Putting Our Faith to Work in Practical Ways".

Step 4: invites us to look at "Discerning and using spiritual gifts for ministry". We look at "exercises to help us to invite the Holy Spirit into our exploration. The text is also our own experience. This module invites us to identify and explore how God speaks to us in our daily lives."

Typically, study groups are offered for either Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm or Sundays at noon with a "Brown-Bagger" group - your choice. Childcare is made available for the Sunday sessions.

The remaining steps are...

Step 4. Putting Our Faith to Work in Practical Ways.
Step 5. We Worship: Therefore We Are: Therefore We Worship?
Step 6. Living As Christians in the 21st Century.
Step 7. Biblical Interpretation: Who Said What, When and Why?
Step 8. Social Justice

We invite you to enter into a voyage of discovery with us which will explore our relationship with God - the Holy, the Creator - as we live "on the border of the HOLY". We will learn together from the printed and the spoken word, from friends and sojouners, how we can live God's Love in this amazing, beautiful and often terrifying world.

Our equipment for the journey will include the foundational books of our faith, thought-provoking books from our modern scholars, guest-speakers, and video resources, but most of all, the "spirit to know and love God, and the gift of joy and wonder in all God's work."

This Christian voyage of discovery will take place over the process of four years, with two or three sessions being offered each year. Each session will take six to ten weeks.

We would love to have you travel the whole journey with us, but we will also welcome you for any part of the trip.
