Church Staff includes the Rector and the Parish Administrator in Full-time positions, the Music Director, the Accountant and the New Member Ministry Co-Ordinator in part-time positions.

The Reverend Christine Rowe

On Sunday, July 2nd, 2006, the Canonical Committee announced that the Venerable Christine Rowe had been selected as the new Rector of St. Catherine’s, Capilano.

Christine was the Rector at St. Thomas in Vancouver and also the Archdeacon of Burrard. Christine has a husband, Stephen (Rector at Church of the Epiphany, Surrey) and three children (Hannah, 18; Lucy, 16; and Thomas, 12).

Christine has an impressive resume which includes the following highlights: elementary teacher in Britain (1978 to 1980), teacher for the Anglican Church in Pakistan (1980 to 1982), worked for St. James Social Services, Vancouver (1983), Parish Deacon, St. Mary’s Denham, England (1986 to 1989), ordained to the diaconate in April 1987, Parish deacon, St. Mary’s Aylesbury, England (1989-1993), Associate Priest, St. John’s Caversham, England (1993 to 2000), ordained to the priesthood in April 1994, priest in charge, St. Thomas, Vancouver (2000 to 2001) and Rector, St. Thomas, Vancouver (2001 to 2006).

In addition Christine has very active within the Diocese of New Westminster. Her current responsibilities include: Dean of North Vancouver Deanery, member of MCDC, and Mothers’ Union Diocesan Chaplain.
Susan Kimm-Jones - Parish Administrator

Susan Kimm-Jones, our Parish Administrator, came to us in 1992 after fourteen years in administration at IBM in Paris and Vancouver. Susan's responsibilities include facilitating communications between parish groups and committees, assisting the Rector by handling much of the administration of the parish, coordinating the upkeep of the buildings as well as various volunteer projects, and arranging booking of parish space. Please talk to Susan about concerns you might have in any of these areas.
Siiri Rebane - Music Director

Siiri Rebane, our Music Director, came to St. Catherine's in 1995. Siiri has been involved in church music in various denominations and has performed professionally for the last eleven years. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, she has performed in major concert halls in Estonia, the Soviet Union, Sweden, Finland, England and Germany. Siiri is responsible for our music ministry, including the Choir, the Youth Choir, Children's Choir and the Handbell Choir. Please talk to Siiri if you are interested in any of our music programs.

Jim Westwell - Treasurer and Accountant

Jim Westwell has been a member of St. Catherine's for twenty-eight years and is presently serving his fifth term as a member of Parish Council. In the past, he has served as Treasurer for a total of eight years. His main interest is in seeing that St. Catherine's continues be relevant in our community without discarding traditional family values. Jim is a Certified General Accountant and has recently retired from a long career in the BC film industry. He is married to Shirley and has two adult children, Stacey and Bill.
