Our Outreach Projects during the year are focused on local, national and international projects and needs within our community. They involve finding out more about specific areas of mission, offering financial and practical help where appropriate and seeking to reflect God's abundant generosity.
In addition there are ongoing programs such as our annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas Bureau. St. Catherine’s is also a major supporter through donations to the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund. Over the years St. Catherine’s has been very involved in sponsoring refugees and providing support for them. Recently this has been done in conjunction with other churches.
Funding for 2015's Outreach Projects will come from your individual donations and fundraising events. Information about some of the programs our parishioners support is listed to the left. Please see our most current parish newsletter for up-to-date news on outreach projects and programs.
Suggested projects include:
- Primates World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF)
- Spectrum Mothers Support
- "On Eagles Wings"
- Christmas hampers
- Coming Home Society (does not receive further Diocesan funding)
This year, we join with Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in support of the Turning Point home for women in recovery, recently opened in our community.
Anyone or a group can plan a one-time event, such as a car wash, Sunday lunch, silent auction, book or plant sale, or cake walk, and designate the funds to your favourite Outreach project. What novel fundraiser might you think up for THIS year?
