On Good Friday, St. Catherines had “Stations of Earth” in our sanctuary. From 10 to 4 there was a stream of people walking to the Altar. This was advertised in the North Shore News and was such a reach out to our community.

Three artists, Rhonda Garten, Heather Luccock, and Lynn Spence were asked to gather their paintings pertaining to air, water, stone, and fire. Sharon, our Vicar, put together poetry and prayer in the booklet, which went so well with the paintings. Pausing at each of the 14 stations, people read from the booklet. At the font, when they began, people were asked to take a polished stone to carry on this journey, reminding them of a burden they were carrying. Upon reaching the Altar, they could lay it down or take it with them if they were not ready to let go.

It was a very spiritual event and people’s comments were overwhelming.
