St. Catherine’s Anglican Church is Hiring a Summer Maintenance Worker!

beginning June 2nd 2014 (11 Weeks)

 

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will provide opportunities to learn various skills in the area of practical everyday experiences by maintaining a large complex which is used by some 300 people on a daily basis.

 

The Tasks for this position will include the painting and “sprucing up” of Meeting Rooms and Assembly areas.  It may also require the person to make small repairs to furniture and equipment.  Some outside light yard work will also be included.

 

DIRECT SUPERVISION

The person will work, on a day to day basis, under the direct supervision of the Parish Administrator.  The person will be supported by the “Buildings & Grounds” Committee.  This committee will supply all necessary tools and equipment.   A detailed list of jobs will be produced each week during the course of the Program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The person shall be at least 18 years of age; registered at a school, university, or college; able to follow general directions and work in an independent environment. Being a responsible person is a must.

 

EXPECTATIONS

- 35 Hours per week (7 work hours per day) Mon. to Fri. 

- supply own work clothes

- Rate of Pay is $13.00 per hour ( Paid twice per month)

 

SAFETY PRACTICES

St. Catherine’s Church follows all practices as outlined by Work Safe BC.   There will be an orientation provided by the Parish as to safe practices.
