Greetings St Catherine’s Friends,

We are one week away from Christmas Eve. Because this year we will not be able to gather together, the Wardens, Eucharistic Administrators, Altar Guild and I would like to offer you communion delivered to your home.

Earlier today, Heather Peacock, Associate Warden, and I gathered for a short Eucharist following all the COVID protocols. I consecrated enough wafers for each of you to receive communion of one kind on Christmas Eve in your homes. The recording of the Eucharistic prayer is included in this message.

Early next week, Vivian McGie from the Altar Guild, will carefully with a mask and gloved hands package the consecrated wafers into a sealed bag and box together with a Christmas Prayer.

Next week, those Eucharistic Administers who are able and COVID free, will pick up the bagged boxes at the church.  For delivery, each Eucharistic Administer will:

  • be masked and gloved.
  • knock on your door and leave the box at the door.
  • take some steps back and wait for you to open.
  • do their best to keep 2 meter distance.
  • offer a greeting and leave.

If you would like to receive communion of one kind at home, please contact Natasha at the office and she will make sure that you are included.  Telephone number: 604 985 0666 or scadmin@shaw.ca

The Video of the Christmas Eve Service will include a Eucharist and communion. You may wish to retain your wafer until the service at 4pm on December 24th. You can watch the service here

May God’s deep peace dwell in your hearts by faith.
