We are followers of Christ, gathered in community and open to discovery.
Rooted in the heart of Edgemont Village, on the traditional and unceded lands of the Coast Salish peoples — including the Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations — we seek to live lives of gratitude and service.
At St. Catherine’s, you’ll find people at many stages of faith: lifelong Anglicans, returning seekers, and those exploring church for the first time. We don’t claim to have every answer; we trust that the Holy Spirit meets us in our questions.
Our worship is shaped by ancient rhythms of prayer and sacrament, and our life together flows into acts of compassion and service in the wider world.
Our hope is to be a place where faith can take root and grow through shared prayer, thoughtful conversation, and the quiet work of love.
Anglican faith is centred on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We read Scripture as the story of God’s love for the world — a story that continues to shape and guide us today.
Our worship brings together Word and Sacrament: hearing the Scriptures, praying for the world, and sharing bread and wine as signs of Christ’s presence among us.
We hold to the ancient statements of faith shared by Christians throughout the world — the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed — as touchstones of what we believe.
Our prayers and services are principally drawn from The Book of Alternative Services that shapes today’s Anglican life in Canada: Together with The Book of Common Prayer, these texts ground us in tradition while giving language to the faith we live today.
Anglicans hold conviction and humility together: faith strong enough to guide us and spacious enough to let questions breathe.
We believe that God’s Holy Spirit is still at work —renewing, reconciling, and calling us deeper into love and service.
Our clergy, staff, and lay leaders share in guiding the life of the parish. Each brings different gifts — preaching, music, teaching, care, and administration — and all serve toward the same purpose: to help the community encounter Christ in worship and daily life. Our shared mission and values express who we are as a community of faith: followers of Christ seeking to live God’s love in this time and place.
They remind us that worship and service belong together and that our journey with Christ is one of curiosity, compassion, and gratitude.
These statements guide the way we pray, act, and grow together as St. Catherine’s.
St. Catherine's Anglican Church, near the heart of Edgemont Village in North Vancouver on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, is a contemporary community of Christian seekers and we welcome you to join us in the journey. We provide a place of spiritual growth through Christ, and we respond with gratitude for God's abundance in our lives through service to our brothers and sisters in the world.
St Catherine’s is a community that aspires to be:
Welcoming • Inclusive • Curious • Creative • Sustainable • Caring • Humble
We believe that every person is made in the image of God and is deeply beloved.
At St. Catherine’s, all are welcome to worship and to receive the Sacraments, regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, or background.
We affirm the sacred worth of every body and every story.
We seek to be a community where difference is not merely accepted but celebrated as a reflection of God’s own creativity.
This is a season of discernment and renewal for St. Catherine’s: some ministries are resting, others are being re-imagined, and new possibilities are beginning to take shape. We trust that as we continue to listen to God’s Spirit, new ministries will emerge that reflect both the needs of our neighbourhood and the gifts within our congregation.
Fellowship happens — in voices raised in song, over coffee after church, in quiet pastoral visits, and in the small ways we support one another.
“Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” — Matthew 18:20
We’d love for you to be part of this unfolding life — to bring your questions, your gifts, and your presence. Whether you come once or often, you help shape the community we are becoming.
