Good morning friends,

Today, March 2nd, Ash Wednesday, we embark on our Lenten pilgrimage. A journey of deepening our spiritual practices, prayer lives, intentionality of what we consume, and a greater sense of penitence for how our actions impact others and our world.

I invite you to commit to praying for peace in our world. Our Bishop commends us to do the same. See the video posted below on this news page.

Throughout Lent, the St Catherine's chapel will be set up as a place for prayer for our world. You are welcome to come to this place, to be still, to light candles and to pray. 

I invite you also to join in one of our Ash Wednesday North Shore services. See below.

In-Person Services  

Noon Service

Outdoor Ash Wednesday service at St Catherine’s at noon, by the memorial garden. 

The service will be 20 minutes Midday Prayer with the imposition of Ashes.

Seating will be available for those who require it.    

Evening Services

Indoor Ash Wednesday service at St Clements’s. 7 pm Imposition of Ashes and Service of Holy Eucharist; Presider: The Reverend Helen Dunn; Preacher: The Reverend Mark Munn.

Gloria Dei will be offering an Ash Wednesday evening service at 7:30 pm with the Imposition of Ashes, without Holy Communion.
