Some parishioners will remember that the former Diocesan archivist Melanie Delva came and spoke at St Catherine’s some years ago about her work researching records from the Anglican Residential Schools on behalf of First Nations former students.  She found this work so moving and important that she was later appointed as the national coordinator of the Anglican Church’s Residential Schools reconciliation program.  She lives in Lytton now and her home was burned to the ground in the fire.  She lost everything.  Rev Laurel Dykstra has started a fund raising campaign on her behalf.  Here is the link if you would like to donate to help Melanie rebuild her life.
