We would like to thank those who have contributed to the second maintenance worker for the summer, we really appreciate it.  It appears we have enough money at the present time to hire someone for 6 weeks.  The position is slated to begin on July 2nd and conclude on August 15th

We are currently in the process of hiring this second worker.  Thanks again!

Donations in Memory of Trish McMordie

The HABA Snake has arrived at the library! This is the piece of furniture for the children's area that has been purchased with funds donated by friends in memory of Trish McMordie. We are planning a dedication ceremony for the afternoon of June 19, probably around 3:30. If anyone still wants to donate to this project, here is the information:

Donations to the North Vancouver District Public Library in memory of Trish McMordie are going to purchase equipment and books for the Children's Area at the Lynn Valley Public Library. Trish was always a strong advocate for early childhood literacy. The Larson School community has initiated a fund to purchase a HABA Sit and Play snake, a piece of furniture where kids can sit and read. You can see what it looks like here: http://www.gaylord.com/adblock.asp?abid=17692

Other pieces of equipment will be purchased based on how much more is donated. This is hopefully just the first piece. There will also be mention of Trish and the donations somewhere in the library close by. To contribute to this project, you can donate online at http://www.nvdpl.ca/donate or send your cheque to:

North Vancouver District Public Library 1277 Lynn Valley Rd., North Vancouver, BC V7J 2A1
