After a hiatus, Soul Food Sunday returns on October 5, feasting on the Word, the Bread and Wine, and breakfast! The Rev. Dr. Rob James will be with us to preside for St. Francis' Day. Please watch for email from Rhonda Garton to co-ordinate food.
Familiar parts of our "breakfast church" will return: writing personal petitions and thanksgivings for Prayers of the People, great fellowship, a contemporary Anglican liturgy (newly authorized by our Archbishop!). We'll offer "food for thought" questions to take into your week, but have heard your feedback that table discussions haven't been your favourite part of Soul Food Sunday. In other words, we'll have plenty of the flavour that you know, with some new accents — please come and try Soul Food Sunday if it hasn't been part of your worship "menu" before!
We'll bless pets at the end of the service, as well as outside Thrifty's afterwards. Because the service involves sharing food, pets who are well-socialized to people and to other animals are welcome in church, but must be leashed or crated before the blessing.
