First of all, I would like to thank each and everyone for the warm welcome. The very first time I set foot at St. Catherine’s, I felt like I belonged here. This community is wonderful to connect with and be a part of.

As we read in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “There is a time and season for everything", I believe this is my time to share my God-given talent, skills, and knowledge with a wonderful community here in Vancouver specifically on the North Shore. 

A few months ago, I arrived in Vancouver to start over in life. Little did I know, it was God’s way of leading me to see the light, which for me is St. Catherine’s. As a newcomer to this country, I never expected that I would be able to do the things that I love to do: Connect with people, share my talents and ideas, and organize and execute impactful social responsibility plans. And I am thrilled to do these things with you.

As the new Community Engagement Coordinator, my goal is to collaborate, support and encourage our community members to work together for the common good.

For years, St. Catherine’s Website, Bulletin, and Newsletter have been very helpful to the community. They serve as a guide, and source of information about the church and the community. And the time for some changes to these channels  has arrived. We are in the process of revamping these communication channels to make them a platform for our community. A platform to share ideas, connect, learn, educate and be educated, and to inform and be informed.

You will begin to notice some changes in our Newsletter, Bulletin, Website, and other communication channels. These changes include a page dedicated to Memorials on our website for easier navigation, a section for community news in our bulletin, and exciting sections in our newsletter and website such as a forum, news on parishioners and community members, and book reviews. Everyone is welcome to submit topics and stories, photographs, and art that align with our values: Welcoming, Inclusive, Curious, Creative, Sustainable, Caring, and Humble. In life,  there are many seasons, with one constant, change. A change of season can be daunting but it's also filled with opportunity and growth... something to embrace.
