Your presence and voice matter as we gather to reflect and look ahead together.
The Annual Vestry Meeting for St. Catherine’s
will be held on
after the 10am service.
Vestry is the term in the Anglican Church of Canada that refers to the Annual General Meeting of all Members of the Parish, also known as Members of Vestry, defined below:
“The Vestry of a parish shall consist of all baptized persons of the age of fifteen or over who are accustomed worshippers within the Parish and whose names have been on the Membership Roll of the Parish for at least the three months preceding the Vestry Meeting, but no person shall have their name on the Membership Roll of more than one Parish in the Diocese at the same time.” (Canons of the Diocese of New Westminster)
This is an annual opportunity to gather together as a community of faith, receive the reports of various groups, offer appreciation for volunteers, elect members to serve as representatives to Synod, review the financial state of the parish and to conduct the formal business of the parish.
The call to participate as a Member of Vestry is an invitation to live into the rights and responsibilities that follow with being baptized in Christ, and choosing to support and uphold one another and this community of faith in prayer, stewardship, and faithfulness.
