You are invited to a 2-part evening for contemplative seekers. Join us for the full two hours or just come for one, according to your need. Both offerings will be on Zoom. Later in the Spring an in-person Lenten half day retreat will be offered.
7-7:50 pm: Spiritual Practice Group
8-9 pm: Contemplative Compline (link to details here)
In the first hour, we will be exploring the themes from Christine Valters Painters's book: The Soul's Slow Ripening: 12 Celtic Practices for Seeking the Sacred. We invite you to purchase the book (link to book here), or gather with the group for teaching, reflections and conversations.
Celtic Christianity of the 6th Century followed in the lineage of its predecessors, the Desert Fathers and Mothers of the Middle East. They sought direct experience of Christ, encountering the Sacred embodied in the Earth and engaging the Path through the Heart. We will explore this simple way of the Christian inner tradition using poet/artist/author Christine Valters Paintner’s reflective guide The Soul’s Slow Ripening. Through photography, journalling, poetry and moments of contemplative silence and listening we’ll work with themes such as Thresholds, Dreams, Peregrination (Holy wandering), Soul Friending, Encircling (Prayer of Protection), and more.
